YOUR PATRONAGE HELPS SUSTAIN GREEN SPACES
Delaware Park Stewardship
Did you know that our restaurant and bar sales and private events help financially support the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy (BOPC)? The Terrace at Delaware Park was established as a public bar and restaurant in Spring 2017 in partnership with the BOPC and the City of Buffalo, as a way to restore our historical architecture and financially support the ongoing preservation of our cherished urban green space.
Listed on the National Register for Historic Places, Buffalo’s Olmsted Park System was designed over 150 years ago by Frederick Law Olmsted. During the 1901 Pan American Exposition, Buffalo was celebrated not only as the City of Light, but the City of Trees. His system of parks and parkways in Buffalo was the first of its kind in the nation and represents one of his largest bodies of work.

BUILT IN 1901
“THE CASINO”
The original boat house at Delaware Park was designed by Calvert Vaux, Frederick Law Olmstead‘s partner, and completed in 1875. Destroyed by a fire in 1900, the ‘casino’ ( an Italian term for summerhouse) was built in its place by architects Green & Wicks for the Pan American Exposition of 1901. The casino was formally renamed the “Marcy Casino” to honor the devoted Delaware District City Councilman who led restoration efforts in the early 1980s.
The Terrace at Delaware Park opened in 2017 in the historic casino building and is now a beloved Buffalo restaurant, wedding venue, and event space with beautiful views.
